Sisters Lisabeth and Kirsten have put the finishing touches on Justin Wissink’s original contemporary gospel recording by adding harmony and violin respectively to the song “God of Heaven”. It is fitting they would be honored to be part of this song as it reflects a life story very close to them and Justin. Pics of those involved in Justin’s recording can be found in our photo gallery.

Glory Road Hosts Annual Gospel Music Sing in Bayliss Park
Once again the summer air was filled this afternoon with the distinct sounds of Southern Gospel as several groups and individuals performed at Council Bluff’s Bayliss Park. The fountain backdrop brought a welcome mist on the also welcome breeze as the local musicians shared the Gospel message in songs and words throughout the afternoon. Our good friends and client Father’s Voice performed an early set and Glory Road closed out the day. For several years Glory Road – a Council Bluff’s based quartet has organized this event as a platform for area singers and an outreach to their community. This year (as well as last) also featured a short set by a Minneapolis based group, in town for a concert later at the Salvation Army auditorium on N. 16th street. Glory Road recently released their 7th CD recorded at Tesco Productions entitled So Far.
Hats off to all the guys & gals who put in a lot of leg work, time and effort to provide this event once again. It could be very tempting on a hot summer day to think it’d be a lot more fun to set in the air conditioning, but who’d want to deprive the little flat bugs (that also filled the air) of their pleasure?!
Rayne Magill Completes Release of Thank You Lord
Rayne Magill made a couple of visits to Tesco Productions recently to record fifteen original songs which were released under the title Thank You Lord. The songs are all “written from life” according to Rayne, and reflect her God-given faith and accounts of life’s events. Just acoustic and vocal were recorded originally and then she decided harmonies were in order, and so most of the tunes had another part laid in.
Rayne has been involved in music for many years, and I’ve often met her at the annual NTCMA music week now held in Le Mars, IA (the week prior to and including Labor Day weekend) or at the local GPBOTMA monthly show. She keeps a busy schedule performing at various music events and in care facilities, and will be heard at the Applegrass Festival this coming weekend held at Ditmar Orchards just NE of Council Bluffs.
The disc is an easy listen and I think you’d enjoy hearing Rayne. Let me know of your interest through the contact page and I’ll put you in touch with her. Blessings for a life lived and shared.
